Summertime and the Heat is On!

How are you all holding up under this heat wave? It seems to be everywhere, up in New

England, Ohio, Michigan. I think some are starting to get a break from it, I am hoping we do too.

We are getting ready for our Customer Appreciation Sale next weekend, the 17th & 18th. Hope we have a cooler day for it, but if not, there will be plenty of ice cold lemonade. Don't forget, we will be closed on Friday the 16th.

Its always fun to see everyone and see everyone chatting with one another and having a good time.

I wanted to share this picture of a little pine table Dee did up in Americana, we do Americana here all year, everyone loves it!

Well, now its a few hours later, got busy in the shop, and we are getting RAIN!!!! I am hoping this is our cool front!!!!

Its a Big Boy!

We just got this corner cupboard in this week, its a big one, really a great display, and no doors to get in the way, which is nice sometimes if your space is limited, its a big piece but tucking it in a corner, it doesn't take up tons of room. Herb needs to tighten it up some, it had been in a building since 1983, and it is a NC piece from Harnett County. Should have seen us getting that Big Boy out of that building, in these hot temps!!! Whew!

Pewter Cupboard

SOLD!!!
The corner pie safe found a "happy" home, so we brought in this pewter cupboard we just found, its a nice old pine one.

Remember we are closed tomorrow, the boys are home and we are gonna just hang out and enjoy the day and try to stay cool!

Coverlets and Pillow Cases

We just got in some new coverlets, and we have pillowcases to match. These are handwoven at Red Lion, Pa. They look so nice with your primitive, or colonial home. They are made just like the old ones. I love them! Here you can see the pillowcases.
These two coverlets are the Angstadt Star pattern, in brown, and they are double size.

These two are King Size, the bottom one is red stripe on linen, and the top one is The Four Locked Heart pattern in linen.

These are Double Peach Seed pattern, they are queen size, we have brick, black and brown.

We are open tomorrow, Saturday June 19. 10-5, and we will be closed on Fathers Day, then reopen on Monday, 10-5.

Betsy Ross Garden Flags!

We just got these Betsy Ross garden flags in, at the suggestion of a very good friend. They really look great, don't they? This is a new flower bed we just put it, and right now its kinda wimpy....

Butterflys Everywhere!

Its so funny, about 3 years ago, I planted some lavender, and I also planted some butterfly bushes, well the lavender is swarming with butterflys and there may be one now and then on the butterfly bushes, we usually have alot on our lantana too, but this year they are lovin' the lavender. I know many of you have already seen this, some have even taken pictures, but for those of you that haven't.....enjoy. You can click on the picture to see them better.

The push cart is full of petunias, but seems there were some purple ones in with the red, white and blue ones, its still very pretty.

On the Cover of the Rolling Stone!!!!

Nah, not the Rolling Stone, even better than that!!! Our friend Giles log cabin birdhouse is going to be on the cover of the Fall issue of Merchantile Gatherings fall issue. Looks like a great issue and its to be released around June 25, and its going to have 8 more pages than its had before. When they get to the shop, I will let ya know!

Strange Happening!

Today while at the shop, I see this car pull over, and stop in front of the shop, the window goes down and this lady is taking pics of the front of the shop, then she pulls up a little ways and takes pics of our sign? Then she pulls away. I thought that was really weird. I wanted to tell her to come inside and see all the goodes inside the shop, but she was gone. Isn't that strange? Why wouldn't she come inside? She really wasn't real far off the road, and we live on a busy highway. I am still trying to figure it out.

A Wonderful Mothers Day!!!

Wow! What a wonderful Mothers Day I have had today! It was all possible by these guys and Meredith, sitting on our back porch. They fixed a fantastic meal, the weather was perfect, and the only thing that could have made it better, would be if Mom was here! Shes in Ohio with my brothers and sisters though, so I know her day was blessed too. I told these guys that I think Mothers Day should be at least twice a year! They just smiled. Last night Casey's girlfriend, Jessica was here, that was nice too, shes going to school to be a nurse and today she had to work at her job. Wish I had gotten a pic of her too, will get one next time.
Anyway, I hope everyones Mother's Day was as wonderful as mine was!

Cameron Antique Fair!

Day one at the Cameron Antique Fair is past, getting ready for day two. Yesterday wasn't real busy, I don't think alot of people knew it opened at noon yesterday. Lots of fun was had by those that were there though.
Today would be a great day to get out and do some antiquing. Today it runs from 9-5.

Someone was in the shop last week, asking about bird houses, I saw several booths with some wonderful ones, there were some nice ones in front of the Ferguson House, next to Barb and Giles, also Giles had made some fantastic bee skep houses, and of course his log cabins. There is a mix of handmades and antiques, so there is something for everyone.
And of course stop and say "hey" to Herb and I!
