I just couldn't resist, these petunias looked so pitiful in August, I asked Herb to pull the cart around to the woods, he refused, saying they might make a comeback, well, as much as I hate to admit it, he was right, look at them! I know the cart should be full of pumpkins and mums, but we are still getting real warm days, and Christmas Open House is less than two weeks away, so I am letting them show off.....silly me!!!
I have been looking at some old Country Living magazines, from the 80's when they were so full of wonderful old baskets, pewter, woodenware, all the things we love. And I have been enjoying reading Jo Northrup's, Simple Pleasures articles, and well, I guess petunias in October is one of Lifes Simple Pleasures, here in NC. Oh and by the way, Jo used to live up the road from here. I know, I am getting eccentric.
And less than two weeks away is our Christmas Open House, I promise to hide the petunias before then, ok?

My good friend, BrunieMae, up in Michigan just did up some wonderful calendars. We have some here in the shop for sale, the pictures are wonderful, and the calendars are only 12.00 each! What a great buy! Stop in and get one before they are all gone.
Just got this new Judy Condon book in, limited supplies.
Herb kept saying he was going to make a quilt crane from tobacco sticks, and I had this vision of something entirely different, but when he brought it to me and showed me, I LOVED it! One of them he waxed, the other one he didn't. I think they are wonderful. I am sorry, they are not shippable though. Those wreaths are not shiney at all but every picture I take they look shiney, drives me crazy!

Just went out on the porch and look what I found! Two boxes of them! Took a quick peek and it looks awesome! They did it again!
Won't be around for much longer, and its really my favorite time of year, this week has been so pretty. 
Arriving in the next couple weeks is a new book by Jill Petersen, Homecoming. This book is 153 pages, with 350 full color photographs, I can' t wait to get them in! Maybe they will arrive in time for Open House, wouldn't that be cool? Heres hoping!!! If you want to reserve on, let me know.
