Dolls and Angels

Got some angels and dolls in today, I like them because they are plain and simple.....what do you think? I got two bonnets from this lady too, and they have the same look as the dolls dress, again, plain and simple.

Brown Cupboard with doors shut.

Here is the one that had the shiny gunk on it, with the doors shut, it has a really pretty color to it, hard to tell from the picture though.

New Old Stuff!

Here are a couple pics of two new old cupboards we got in this week, one is an antique white color, and the inside is the prettiest pine, whoever had it really took good care of it, the dealer I got it from said it was southern yellow pine, the other one had that shiny, gunky brown yuck on the outside of it, which I stripped off, now its a mellow pretty pine, with no shine! Then I just took a pic of the chair and the stool table in front of the fireplace cuz I thought it looked so nice and cozy, like you could curl up and read a good book, or look at one of the great country books by Judy Condon, or Jill Peterson.

This is something new that Sherrie has tried, this cloth is very old looking, and Sherrie has done some stitiching on the corner, they look so old and feel so old too, really neat.

Few More

Been Teekin!

Been doing a little antiquin, and found a few things, most of it needs some work, but some was shop ready, this is what I do on the days I am not in the shop, tomorrow I hope to get outside and work on some of my "projects". Believe me, I have plenty of them, and need to get them done before our spring open house.

I know I have been kinda lazy about posting, been waiting on that new stuff to get here.....and its trickling in....We got some more of these black star linens, a nice throw, towels, candle mats, runners, and we have placemats coming. We also got the neatest pods in,they are called Heirloom Pods....they are so prim looking, would look great in an old dough bowl, basket, or an old box.
Well, UPS just brought me some boxes, I think they are signs....will post more later!

Back From Ohio!

Well, we just got back from Ohio last night, and it was even colder there, than here!!! We had a good time and found some new things for the shop. Dee and I worked all day getting some of it out, but we still have alot more work to do. Whew....seems there is always something needin done. Gotta love this job!!!!

Our spring open house will be on March 7, which is the first Saturday in March.

Wanted to let you see some shots of some of our new things.

We got the neatest little corner shelfs that are freestanding and done in a wonderful primitive finish, you can do so much with these.

What a Mess!!!

We had alot of wind here yesterday, and look what it did, it took down an old pine tree, that we knew needed to be taken down. Actually Chad and Herb were going to take it down last weekend, but I mentioned the house needed powerwashed and it was so warm out, they opted to do that instead(actually Chad did it, Herb did the garage), and yesterday Mother Nature took care of the tree. Luckily it didn't hurt anything, was awful close to the propane tank though, which we just had filled. Guess we know what Herb will be doing the next couple of days....you will hear that chain saw a buzzin! Thank you Mother Nature, I was kinda worried about them taking that big old thing down, it was huge.

Hog Troughs

Ok, now your gonna know I am weird, but I have some company on this one! One of my favorite pieces in my home is my hog trough, and in the almost 12 years I have had the shop, I have sold about that many hog troughs, and everyone that has bought one, just loves it. Anyway, I thought it would be fun to post pics of some of the ones I have sold and of mine too. I have a picture of mine and one of Sherries, and hopefully some of you will send me pics of yours to post....Cynthia? Rena? Kay? Janet? Let us see, Please???

Saturday, January 3

Heres another cupboard we just got in.

We just got this piece in the shop this week, its a real cute prim piece, has a little piece of punched tin on the door. I would probably call this a chimney cupboard.
It looks a little shiny in the pic, but its really not.

Just Got this hoosier style cabinet in!

Just got this in and wanted to share a pic of it!!!

Open New Years Day!

Have had several people call and ask if we will be open on New Years Day, and the answer is YES, we will be. Will be open from 10-5, so while the men are watching football, if your not really into football, you can come and get your primitive fix.
Yesterday we got to see our friends that now live in Carlise, Pa, Rebecca Hayes and her family stopped by on their way home from Georgia, always good to see them and their boys, who are both, ALL boy, Will found a pumpkin we had put in the woods and came out dragging it, to take back to Pa, he carried that thing about 1/2 an acre. They are both such sweet little guys!!! And they are growing up so fast.
Wanted to share with you some new dipped strands of lights we got in, but I forgot to take a picture, but will do it tomorrow, they are 35ct strands of lights that are dipped and oh so prim, they are selling like hotcakes and I will need to get in another order. Anyway, more on that tomorrow. We also have single bulbs that are dipped, that are really cool!!!

Thursday, December 18

We finally got our tree up!!!

Thanks to my pal Wendy, in Missouri, I think I can post a pic of the boys on Santas lap, this is one of my favorites, where have the years gone?
Casey made this when he was just 4, that was 21 years ago.

Seems as we get older and with doing things for the shop, every year, getting our tree up gets later and later! I was beginning to wonder if we were gonna get it up this year! Well, yesterday was the day! We finally have our tree in our living room! Putting up the tree for me brings back so many memories, our tree is not a primitive tree, its more a family and friend tree, I have so many wonderful ornaments that friends have made and given me through the years, and lots that Chad and Casey made in preschool and in cub scouts, and then there are the ones of them taken with Santa, those are some of my favorites. When the boys were small we used to go to Lazarus, in Columbus, Ohio every year for them to see Santa and to see the wonderful window displays that Lazarus used to do, they were magical! We would have the boys picture taken on Santas lap, and they were made into ornaments, I tried to take a picture, but it kept glaring, not sure what I was doing wrong, will try again later. Anyway, we now have our tree, and everytime I walk by it, I smile, remembering when the boys were small.

As Time Goes By.....Its Here!!!

We just got our shipment of the new Judy Condon book in today, gonna hunker down with it tonight, flipped through it at the shop today, and its a good one, I noticed there are lots of pictures of bathrooms, or privvys. With the route most magazines have taken, its nice to get a book with some "real" country primitive homes in them. I think you will want to add this to your library!!!!

We are truly blessed to have such loyal customers, with the economy as it is, we are so lucky to have your support, and we want to thank each and every one of you. We will keep trying to have all the things you love and to bring you not just trendy things that will be tucked in the back of your closet next year, but things that you will keep in your home for years.
Thank you once again!
